Dear BUP friends,

 

The spring is imminent, although the northern parts of our region still is covered in thick layer of snow and ice. Although the spring might seem far, our spring events are not! The applications to BUP's student conference, the student delegation to the Annual ForumMobility grant and PhD award are still open, so spread the word among students and young researchers.

 

This week, we can also inform about some upcoming summer schools and as always, the latest call for papers. All found below. Enjoy!

The BUP's Student conference 2020

 

Sustainable Food Production in Conditions of Climate Change

 

The conference aims develop the participants knowledge and spark new ideas during a four-days conference in Slovakia. This year in cooperation with Slovak University of Agriculture and EIT food HUB.

EU's Annual Forum for the Baltic Sea Region

 

Join the BUP student delegation to the forum, this year in Turku, Finland. Together with Åbo Akademi University, we are organizing a three days student event, where the participating students get to take part in the forum with all its seminars, discussions and events.

The BUP Mobility Grant 2020

 

The Baltic University Programme’s Mobility Grant for Young Researchers aims to develop and strengthen the cooperation among young researchers in the Baltic Sea region. The grants is intended for researchers working with sustainable development.

  • Open to PhD students and Postdoc scholars from BUP Member Universities
  • All scientific diciplines are welcomed
  • Two grants are given on 3000€ each

PhD Award 2020

 

The Baltic University Programme's PhD Award, is given to a PhD stundent that is judged to be the most qualified according to the following criteria: inter-/multi disciplinary approach, novelty, innovation, and value for promoting sustainable development.

 

Supervisors nominate their PhD students, which must have defended at a BUP member university during the year 2019. The winner will receive a prize in the form of a diploma and a sum of up to 500€ to cover travel costs and/or accomodation for attending a research conference.

Hamburg University of Applied Science invites to

 

Summer School for Young Scientists

 

The aim of the Summer School, therefore, is to increase the teaching skills of young scientists and doctoral candidates. In addition, the school serves to increase the mobility of young scientists in the Baltic Sea region with the aim of exchanging experiences, knowledge and best practices, both with regard to their own research topics and in the field of teaching, and to establish first contacts for future research cooperation in the field of sustainable energy.

Summer Academy for Young Professionals (SAYP) Baltic Sea Region and Eastern partnership countries

 

SAYP is a training programme developed to build new networks, knowledge and practices for increased transparency, efficiency and resilience in public administration. The programme also aims to strengthen you and your individual capabilities to meet the requirements of a modern governance structure.

 

Open for young (< 35 years) policymakers, public servants and civil society workers, in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and Sweden.

Baltic University Programme (BUP)

Baltic University Programme (BUP) to utworzona w 1991 roku międzynarodowa sieć akademicka, której uczestnikami są uczelnie wyższe w krajach Regionu Morza Bałtyckiego. Obecnie jest to jedna z największych sieci uniwersyteckich na świecie zrzeszająca około 90 instytucji członkowskich.

Celem BUP jest wsparcie uczelni wyższych w szerzeniu wiedzy na temat szeroko rozumianego zrównoważonego rozwoju ekonomicznego, ekologicznego i społecznego w Regionie Morza Bałtyckiego. Program oparty jest na współpracy pomiędzy ośrodkami akademickimi, ale także innymi instytucjami społecznymi np. władzami lokalnymi oraz organizacjami działającymi na rzecz zrównoważonego rozwoju w wymienionym regionie.

Baltic University Programme jest programem interdyscyplinarnym skupiającym wszystkie rodzaje uczelni – humanistyczne i techniczne, wyższe szkoły pedagogiczne i ekonomiczne, uniwersytety rolnicze i medyczne.

Baltic University Programme koordynowany jest na poziomie międzynarodowym przez Sekretariat BUP na Uniwersytecie w Uppsali (Szwecja).

W Polsce krajowe Centrum Uniwersytetu Bałtyckiego znajduje się na Politechnice Łódzkiej.

Podpisanie porozumienia pomiędzy Baltic University Programme a Państwową Uczelnią im. Stefana Batorego w Skierniewicach umożliwia naszym studentom i nauczycielom korzystanie z wszystkich form kształcenia dostępnych w ramach Baltic University Programme, tj. kursów, szkoleń i konferencji organizowanych w Polsce, ale także w innych krajach należących do sieci uniwersyteckiej BUP.
